I'd like to use the built-in Search buttons and allow a field "is empty" operator.
I've hacked the sopt so that lt displays as "is empty" in my search form.
I've hijacked the lt operator in my XML response file so that it searches for field="".
Problem: jqGrid Search form will not allow you to submit the search form if thesval input is empty. There must be a value in sval for it to send the query off to the xml response file.
Is there any way around this?

Hello,
There is workground for this - when the user click every time on serch button and there is no data on it we do not make request to the server - suppose that the user click 5-10 times on empty value.
Instead this is a good recommendation and I will implemet it in next major relese.
Regards
Tony
