jqGrid 4.3.2

April 10th, 2012 33 comments

Hello,

We are glad to announce that 4.3.2 of jqGrid is released.
This version fixes a lot of bugs and again with this introduced two very important features:

  1. rowattr event, which allow to modify the row attributes during rendering under conditions. You can have a look at how jqGrid works in this poker games website where this has used on iPhone poker apps and sites to make poker games.
  2. New event system which allow to define a jqGrid events outside jqGrid using jQuery bind/unbind. This allow the developers of different jqGrid methods to use all the events in the grid without to care if they already defined in the code.

We hope you will enjoy this version.

The next release will introduce multiple sorting and multiple grouping – i.e group on more than one field

Documentation and examples will be done at end of this week

Sincerely Yours
jqGrid Team

New products by Trirand: jqTreeView and jqDropDownList

February 16th, 2012 4 comments

Hello All,

We’d just like to let you know that we have released two new products in our commercial suites that we offer on our http://trirand.net/demo.aspx website. Commercial products help us serve customers needing commercial grade licenses and support and tighter integration with platforms like PHP, ASP.NET WebForms and ASP.NET MVC. This also allows us to maintain the free open-source jqGrid project that we hope you guys like so much. So please, if you need commercial grade component suites, check out our offerings here – http://trirand.net/demo.aspx – and recommend us to your co-workers/friends.

The first product is jqTreeView – a brand new light-weight HTML5 treeview control that supports selection, multiple-selection (Ctrl+Click), checkboxes, load-on-demand mode, enabled/disabled nodes, templates (using the jQuery template engine), client-side events and API, jQuery UI ThemeRoller skinning and many more. Currently we have released jqTreeView for two platforms – ASP.NET WebForms andASP.NET MVC. We are currently working on a PHP version that will be released very soon
ASP.NET WebForms demo – http://trirand.net/demotreeviewaspnet.aspx
ASP.NET MVC demo – http://trirand.net/demotreeviewaspnetmvc.aspx

The second product is jqDropDownList – a light-weight flexible HTML5 dropdown component supporting selection, templates, enabled/disabled items, keyboard support, jQuery UI ThemeRoller skinning and many more. Currently, we ship this for ASP.NET MVC only, with ASP.NET WebForms and PHP in the works.
ASP.NET WebForms demo – http://trirand.net/demodropdownlistaspnetmvc.aspx

In addition to that, we have already released commercial HTML5 components like chart, scheduler, form builder, etc.

Thanks a lot for using jqGrid & jqSuite products and happy coding! We’d like to hear your input in the comments section of this post -we are always listening and trying to improve and your feedback is the best way for us to keepp moving forward.

Yours,
The Trirand Team

jqGrid 4.3.0

December 12th, 2011 39 comments

Hello All,

We are happy to announce the fresh new jqGrid 4.3 release. This release adds a lot of new functionality and bug fixes. Here is what is new:

  • Column Freezing – you can now freeze the first N columns of the grid, so that a horizontal scroll bar appears and they stay fixed (frozen) while you can still scroll the un-frozen columns.
  • Inline add new row – we figured we have “Add New Dialog” – why not have the same functionality for inline editing as well.
  • Inline navigator – a better way to handle control buttons while in inline add/edit/delete modes
  • This one thanks to Oleg – support reading any data from XML including attributes. Thanks again Oleg – your efforts are much appreciated.
  • jQuery 1.7.1 and ThemeRoller 1.8.16 support – the latest jQuery and ThemeRoller releases are now officially supported and tested.
  • A LOT of fixes.

The documentation and examples are up to date. You can see it in the appropriate pages. You can have a look at how jqGrid works in this poker games website where this has used on iPhone poker sites and apps to make poker games.

Please, let us know in the comments below what you think about this release and what do you expect in the next releases. Top of list for now – sorting by multiple columns and grouping by multiple columns.

We’d like to also remind you that we have released 4.3 for our commercial set of components available here – http://www.trirand.net . You can find many additional components like chart, scheduler, jqForm + FormBuilder, datepicker, autocomplete, PDF/Excel/Image exports, automatic binding with no code to all databases (MySQL, Postgre, Oracle, MS SQL), automatic codeless CRUD, etc. We currently provide tools for PHP, ASP.NET WebForms and ASP.NET MVC.

On behalf of the Trirand Team, we’d like to wish you merry Christmas and a great new year.

Yours,
The Trirand Team
