I'm using 1.6.1 and didn't find any problem.

There is a problem with the main summary footer row when grouping column is hidden (groupColumnShow : [false]).
Summary row of sub groups are working fine but main footer row has wrong number of columns.
I'll be glad If you can fix the issue as soon as possible.

There is a bug in the single search dialog. When it first appear, the Group Operator "AND/OR" appear, if you click button "Reset", now Group operator and button "+" both appear.
Suggestion to fix, in file jquery.jqGrid.src.js
line 6275, after $(".add-rule","#"+fid).hide(); add
$("select.opsel","#"+fid).hide();
line 6354, after fl[0].resetFilter(); add
if(p.multipleSearch === false) {
$(".add-rule","#"+fid).hide();
$("select.opsel","#"+fid).hide();
$(".delete-rule","#"+fid).hide();
}
