jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

Hi,

I have to implement a tree grid with the first column freezed.

Is there a way I can freeze the first column. I read on the forums, but could not found a way doing this.

Can anybody tell me when is this expected. In which release?

Or I could implement it.What is a better way.

1) I was thinking of modifying the entire DOM after painting.

Putting the first column in a div and the rest in the other div.

Or

2) Applying some classes to the first column and overlaying it with another.

Please suggest!
