Arabic and Chinese characters are not displaying properly in jqgrid

Hi,

I am using JQgrid 4.4 version. I have added

ajaxGridOptions: {

contentType: 'application/json; charset=utf-8'

} this into my js file. But still the Arabic and chinese characters are not working properly.

It would be great if anyone can help me out of this problem.

Hello,

This setting is by default, so the grid has nothing to do.

1. Set the caheset with meta tag in your html page

2. When the data comes from the server be a sure you send a header with utf-8.

In PHP before to output the data do:

header("Content-type: text/xml;charset=utf-8″);

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your response. I am using Java to get json object. I have set like this,

final HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) facesContext .getExternalContext().getResponse();

response.setContentType("application/json; charset=utf-8");

Still is not working.

Hi,

Are you still facing the issue.

How are you sending the data in a ajax request?

And also, set the response content type at the correct place.
