Hello, I am using asp to generate the xml. The grid loads up but the asp doesn't seems to be firing. I can load the xml response with Firebug and I don't see any errors coming up.
Any ideas?? Been staring at this and reading the docs for hours but I'm not getting anywhere.

okay, found the problem...my xml doctype had an error. things are showing up now.
However, the ID column doesn't seem to be reading into the grid. my xml is set up like the example and my row tags contain the proper ID's, they just aren't being written to the grid...any quick ideas?

If possible provide a link to the problem or publish the code again with the xml data returned from server.

Make sure your ID column does not contains spaces. I am not sure this would prevent it from appearing, but it does prevent jqGrid from successfully executing ajax requests to get data after the initial load.

When I say your ID column does not contain spaces, I mean the values for that column, not the column name itself
