Where can I find the source module for a customer formatter?

Hello, I have never used jqGrid before and I'm trying to find the source module where a custom formatter would be defined. Would this source module be in a static location or would it's location be declared in a configuration file somewhere? I sure would appreciate some help with this. Thanks very much.
