Hello,
This is not a trivial task at all. You can use onSelectRow, but you should think about other problems. Suppose I open the grid (using onSelectRow), lock the row and then I close the browser. The lock remain instead that I'm not in application.
IMHO better way is to check the row when is updated server side. You can check if yhe row is locked (server side) and notify the user if it is locked. This way you will left a complex logic client side.
