I need to display the following structure:
Description | Area | NumericValue
Where Area will be a DropDownList (Html <select>) with numeric values and texts (Area = AreaId, AreaName). Currently, jqGrid requires me to create the Area column binded to AreaName column to select the right option in the Html Select. However, if my Html Select for some reason has more than one option with the same text, but different value, it will select the first option with the searched text, right?
How can I solve this? Bind the column to the AreaId, but display AreaName as text when the row is not being edited and select the current Area when the inline edit is available for this row?

Hello,
When editing with select jqGrid search on on value and displayed text at the same time and if it find the first element it becomes selected.
I recommend you to make your text different in order to solve the problem.
Hint you can add spaces in order to differentiate the equal names.
