Background:  I have a working grid with (grid) as subgrid.  I'm trying to add searching functionality but haven't been too successful. (Yes... I've read the documentation, reviewed the relevant demos, and googled for help)

Environment:  jqgrid 3.4.1, jquery 1.3.1, IE 6 and FF 3.06.  Have asp.net calling .net web services to provide xml to load the jqgrids.  Web services call SQL Server 2000 stored procedures.  Everything works except for the searching.

Methods tried:  .filterGrid (the one I'm most interested in), .searchGrid, and .navGrid.  I've even tried crossing my fingers and toes - didn't help though...Tongue out

Questions:

1) Has anyone been successful implementing a solution using an environment similar to mine?

2) Would someone please provide links or post FULL code samples of a working model?

3) Here are my error messages - Any suggestions?  I've read the other posts in this forum regarding this error but any solution provided was not relevant to my situation.

.filterGrid test:

[Exception... "'Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [@name=ESSBASEID]' when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]"  nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)"  location: "<unknown>"  data: no]
Sys$CultureInfo$_getAbbrMonthIndex()ScriptRe...985135960 (line 5762)
BoxSide()ScriptRe...440000000 (line 499)
[Break on this error] this._upperAbbrMonths = this...s.dateTimeFormat.AbbreviatedMonthNames);

.searchGrid and .navGrid tests:

Exception… “'Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [@selected]' when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]” nsresult: “0×8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)” location: “<unknown>” data: no]

Lastly, I can post code upon request.

Thanks in advance,

A. Soong

D-oh!  I just noticed something while using firebug.  The comments in grid.base.js (where my error was coming from) says its jqgrid version 3.3.4 yet when I open the actual file in notepad, it says its 3.4.1!

No combination of refresh, shift+refresh, etc would get FF to refresh the .js include.  I had to close, clear private data, and reopen FF to get the .js to refresh.  After that, everything's posting properly!

Now to update my web service and sproc to handle the new search criteria....

Thanks

Andy
