Hello,

Assume you activated search button on your navigator bar.

When you click on the search button a search dialog box appears with two buttons on it: FIND and RESET.

Then you enter necessary data in your edit boxes and push one of these buttons.

Now, my problem is how to know what button was clicked.

All what I know (from docs) that searchField, searchOper and searchString are passed over to my php file where I can build necessary SQL query to filter my data. But what are the names of the Find and Reset buttons?

Regards,

Bayram.

Also, in the  documentations it is written that "when the find button is clicked, jqGrid adds three parameters to the url, in name=value pairs". But it is not clear what encoding is used. For example, I use russian letters and my webpage where the grid is placed has  encoding windows-1251. So when I read values of

searchField, searchOper, searchString

in my php files I have to convert them from utf-8 into cp1251. But nowhere in the documentation is said that the jqGrid uses utf-8 encoding when these variables are sent by GET method.

Hello,

jqGrid uses a standart ajax call which by default is utf8. Check to see how you can overcome this - use loadBeforeSend in jqGrid to send custom headers or jQuery ajaxSetup for this purpose.

Also there is a nother parameter which you can use for this purpose the name of parameter is _search if true the find button is clicked.

Regards

Tony
