Hi, Tony.

First of all : sorry for my english.

My question:

user adding new row in database (via 'add row form' of jqGrid), server-side script adding new record in mysql-table. But, what if those record already exist in mysql-table? How can I notice user that something wrong from server-side script? I want error-message to be in 'add-window'.

Hello,

Good idea is first to start with docs. - you can use afterSubmit event for this purpose.

Hi again, Tony.

Now I understand how works “afterSubmit” module.

But I faced with problem:

message appears on the add-form only when there is an error status of adding row (i.e. when server-side script return 'false').

How can I add status message even server-side script returns 'true'?

Here piece of my code:

afterSubmit: function(serverStatus,aPostData) {

        var status = serverStatus.responseText;

        if (status == 'true') {

            return [true,"added successfully..."];

        }

        else {

            return [false,"try again later..."];

        }

    }

Trying everything I had concluded, that even if server-side script returns true, I can notice user with error message, but with good text. :)
Here is the example:

afterSubmit: function(serverStatus,aPostData) {

        var status = serverStatus.responseText;

        if (status == 'true') {

            return [false,"added successfully..."];

        }

        else {

            return [false,"try again later..."];

        }

    }

this example as variant…

Hello,

Currently only when we have error we display the message, but I think that this a good idea in future implementations.

Thanks

Best REgards
