reload the grid and select a row at the same time

How can I reload the grid after some external processing is done and have the grid select a row automatically on the reload? I got two scenarios, I'm having the user add a new row via an external function, and also through a form certain values can be edited and I want to update the grid to reflect that when the form is saved. Thanks!

well, one of the answers is

$("#Grid1").trigger("reloadGrid",[{current:true}]);

which took me a while to find for whatever reason. Any idea how to explicitly set the row id?
