Hi there. This is my first post.

I've been testing this grid for a week so far (samples run fine), but for some reason my first real test (against one of my ongoing project's DB) shows me no records at all.

I am using     url:'ajax/some_ajax.php' and datatype: 'xml' to get the records from the DB.

If I run ajax/some_ajax.php alone, it pulls a nice and beautiful xml stream.

If I replace the url:'ajax/some_ajax.php' by url:'ajax/output.xml', being this xml file the static version of what I get from the ajax/some_ajax.php, the damn thing works fine and I see the records.

My first thought was that I was making a mistake with the header files in the php, but I triple checked and they are exactly the same as the sample provided in the grid package...

Do you know of any other common mistake one can make when pulling records form a php script generating the required xml?

I am testing with FFox 3 and Opera. Thanks in advance, and congratulations for this terrific piece of software.

Ok, 10 minutes after I posted this question, I found the cause.

My PHP script wasn't setting the $_GET[sidx] variable, making my SQL syntax as this:

SELECT ...
FROM ...
ORDER BY 0

and thus the SQL sentence giving an error. This wasn't happening when I run my php script from the browser bc $_GET[sidx] was not defined.
So beware folks to properly manage default variables in your PHP scripts! they might come empty!

Regards
Gabriel
