Maintaining data in a subgrid

Hi,

I'm using a grid as a subgrid but it seems that the subgrid is being destroyed after the subgridRowCollapse event. How do I stop the newly created subgrid from being destroyed? Is there a good reason for this?

Ideally, I would like to check for the existence of any previously created subgrid during an subgridRowExpand event prior to adding the new jqgrid subgrid. In doing so, I am hoping to avoid having to maintain data within an external array or calling off to a service.

Any advice on how to do this is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Currently - no way to do this - evething is created and destroyed dynamicall, but - actually it is a good idea. I will think for this if this can be done.

Regards

Tony

Pardon me reviving the old thread, but this is exactly the same dilemma I'm facing currently.

Has there been any kind of work-around or fix brought into the plugin to allow this kind of functionality?  I would like exactly the same behaviour from my grid as subgrid.  I realise that the dynamically created grid elements for the subgrid still get destroyed on the subgridRowColapse event.  I'm just hopeful that someone has managed to have some kind of progress made since in this regard. Laugh

Thanks advance for any effort in working through or answering my question.

Kind regards,

Pieter.
