jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

in my mvc4 project I have in one of my views:

<div id="jqGrid">
    @Html.Partial("../Component/_ComponentGrid")
</div>

<table id="_componentGrid" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
</table>
<div id="_componentPager" style="text-align: center;">
</div>

and I have a javascript file which begins as:

function showGrid() {
    $('#_componentGrid').jqGrid({
        caption: paramFromView.Caption, ....

In runtime an error is raised:
The object does not accept the property or method 'jqGrid'.
I am including jqGrid as below:


            bundles.Add(new StyleBundle("~/Content/jqgrid").Include(
                        "~/Content/jquery.jqGrid/ui.jqgrid.css",
                        "~/Content/themes/base/jquery.ui.all.css"));


but i am not sure if it is correct. Any ideas on how to solve this issue?
