How to still display jqGrid without requesting the URL

Hi all

Regarding the URL parameter.... here is a partial code:

, url: "WebService001.svc/GetData?CollectionID=" + $("#CollectionID").html()

The problem is the first time the grid is loaded I don't have the #CollectionID value yet; that will be populated by the user.
I am not seeing any errors but I am sure the grid is not loading properly because nothing works unless I pass a value.
How can I still show an empty grid and NOT access my web service if the variable #CollectionID is still empty/null?

Hello,

I higly recomend you to consult the docs before posting.

You will find a lot of solutions.

jqGrid has nothing to do with your problems.

P.S. The solution is very simple if there is no CollectionID value return a empty record set.
