How to load data into Grid along with Page loading.

Hi,

I am newbie to jqGrid. What I understood from the documentation that once the page is loaded, jqGrid would fire another request to load the data (based on url and other parameters).

Actualy, I was checking the possibility, wherein I can pass the initial data justa along with the page and it can be then formatted into grid (on client side) on page load.

Hope you got my point.

Hello,

How is your data like? I mean is this xlm or json string - if so you can

use the parameter datatype: 'xmlstring' (or 'jsonstring') and datastr when passed this way the grid will load again with this data. If after that you like another type of data you can use:

…jqGrid({

…

datatype: 'xmlstring',

datastr: 'here the string'

…

}).setGridParam({datatype:'new allowed data type'});
