Hi there,
I am evaluating jqGrid as part of a prototype ASP.Net MVC 3 application with the intention of using it for a number of production systems. So far I think it is an excellent plugin and will save us a lot of time.
I'm trying to make use of as much functionality as possible in order to demonstrate jqGrid's capabilities and I'm having difficulty with one of the features.
Specifically, this feature is the EditDialog's 'forward' and 'back' buttons that move the selected row up and down. One of my columns is a boolean value and I want to display a green 'tick' image and red 'cross' image depending on the underlying value. This is working fine using a CustomFormatter. I have also set up the EditTypeCustomGetValue() and EditTypeCustomCreateElement() js functions to correctly format the field in the EditDialog as a checkbox with the selected value correctly stored to the database on clicking Submit.
The problem is when you click the forward and back buttons in the EditDialog, the EditTypeCustomCreateElement() function does not fire, so the value of the checkbox is not set correctly. Or, and this is probably more likely, what am I NOT doing that I need to do to update my custom EditType field to set its value correctly on paging? 🙂
