Hi,

I have 3 grids on screen.  I am finding that the message boxes are

not appearing on the visible screen but off screen if it is low down the page.

I cannot scroll down.  Is there a way to make the dialogue box appear above the cursor or dead centre of the browser screen.

Thanks,

Matt.

Hello Matt,

Yes, this is really a problem and is conected with the modals that I use.

I will try to resolve the problem changing the position of the modals

to relative, but not sure if this will be successfully.

Thank you

Regards

Tony

Why not use the editoptions "top and left to place the modal where you want it?

Hello,

There are top and left options of the modals, but the position

is fixed (since of IE) and not relative, so setting them will not help.

I see… I have Linux+FF so can't realy test this much, buch couldn't we just alter the jqModal.css file responsible for styling. After all, the one thing that the author of jqModal claims is that it is flexible.

We could have a container div and then create the modal div inside the container. The container could be relative position and that way we could get absolute/relative position for the modal. (not sure if this is possible but will look into it when I have a bit more time) What do you think Ton?

Just  thought ;-)

Hi Tony.

Sorry for the long absence, but my schedule has been crazy these past few weeks.

Anyway, I started looking into this issue and here are my findings.

In my opinion, the best way to solve this problem would be to have the ability to specify where we want the modal created. From what I gathered, you append it to the body in all but one case so it is after everything else.

If we could append it to say a container div with an id specified by us, we could have greater control of the modal window position.

Container div would have position:relative and then the modal window could be postion:absolute, but relative to container div.

Hope this makes some sense...

Is this change possible?

Cheers,
P.

Hello,

This is not true. The modal is created right before the header. Also I use toTop feature in jqModal. This of course is connected with IE problems. I have play little something like your suggestion, but the only result is - everything works fine in all browsers except in IE all versions.

Best Regards

Tony

I'm having the exact same issue, anyone came up with a solution yet? The issue seems to appear regardless of the browser, FireFox included.

Here's some precisions, I only have one Grid on my page and the modal is appearing almost entirely off the screen when I click on the Add a new row button, if I click on Delete selected row button the modal appears straight in the middle of the screen. So for some reason the issue is isolated to the Add a new row modal.

Hello,

It depends on how you call the method. Do you have set a top and left property?

Remember the position of the modal is fixed - so if you have scrolling page it will be quite possible that this window will appear above and below the grid.
