I am trying to use the jqgrid with conditional cell editing. In my use case some cells are editable and others are not. I cannot mark the whole column as not being editable.

I tried the following:

  1. set cellEdit = false
  2. onCellSelect run my logic, set cellEdit to true and call editCell
  3. in afterSaveCell and afterEditCell set the cellEdit = false again
However this doesn't seem to be restoring properly the non edit mode in all the cases and it also breaks TAB navigation. Is there a better way to do this?

Hello,

Use onSelectCell and not onCellSelect - both have diffrent behaviour.

Tony
