I am using the default settings. I have a three column table. I noticed that depending on what length of data is in table the column header width will not match content width sometimes. Sometimes there is no data in column and then widths do not match. If i have consistent data length in all fields then content and header seem to match. I used the same settings in your demo, but I cant get my content width to match the header width most of the time. Followed the install file in the downloaded dqgrid file. I played with shrinktofit and autowidth setting.

I did a band aid. I set shrinktofit to false and set column widths. Things seems to be lined up, but now a portion of the right column is hidden and users have to scroll to the right a little to see entire right column. What am I doing wrong?

is your grid's table tag inside another tag? if it is , check the style of outside tags. i  removed align properties to solve this problem

yes, the table tag is within another table that was centered. I just made the grid table align to left specifically and the outer table align can be anything. this works. I notice that in IE 8 the grid content lines dont perfectly align to column header. Its off by one pixel.

I tried your solution. removed the alignment from grid table tag to see if just using your css solution would work. Didnt do anything.

my solution works so just going to use it.
