charset problem ï¿½

Hi. Recently implemented jqGrid and found it very useful, thanks.

I have a problem with charset encoding displaying some text in adding.html (up to the grid or down to the grid).

Some characters like è, ò, à ,ù and ì appears like this: ï¿½, ï¿½, ï¿½, ï¿½ and ï¿½.

I tried to put between the <head> tags this: <meta http-equiv=”content-type” content=”text/html;charset=iso-8859-1″ />

It works fine outside jgGrid application.. but not inside it.

Any idea.??

Solved by setting default_charset = "iso-8859-1" in php.ini
