I understand that there is a limitation of two column headers in jqgrid, but I was curious if anyone has found a workaround to add more? This has become a critical issue for me to use jqgrid in my application.
Here is the JSON that I am using - the idea is the last item in the array would go across the top, but it is ignored by the current code:
"groupHeader": [{"startColumnName": "Gross Sales_2","titleText": "06/18/2013","numberOfColumns": "2"},
{"startColumnName": "Gross Sales_4","titleText": "06/19/2013","numberOfColumns": "2"}, {"startColumnName": "Gross Sales_2","titleText": "2013","numberOfColumns": "4"}]

I am pretty sure you are mistaken about limitation of 2 column for group header.
Have a look in jqgrid wiki here > http://www.trirand.com/jqgridw.....038;hellip;..pingheadar
Link is not working very well in this forum....

Hello,
Thanks for the answer.
You can add a link without problems if you select some text and and use the a href tag (insert/edit link) in the editor's button menu.

This example is only showing two levels of column headers - Price and Shipping are on one level and Date, Client, Amount, etc... are a second level. What I need the ability to do is add a third level. So, for example, if I wanted to add a header that logically tied Price and Shipping together, I could create a header that would start on the Amount column and end at the Notes column and would be above the Price and Shipping headers. Hopefully that makes sense?
If that type of functionality is available, I could not make it work.

Hi Thomas,
I think it's you who posted the same question on the stackoverflow. I answerd it recently here. See the demo. which displays the following picture:
I think the example could be interesting for other users of jqGrid. I think that one can extend the code of jqGrid based on the example to implement the same functionality as the part of standard jqGrid code.
Best regards
Oleg
