I have tried to add a class through editoptions but every time I do the grid no longer shows. Can someone help
……
{name:'amount',index:'amount',width:60,
align:”right”,editable:true,editoptions:{size:20,class:'charge'}},
…..
In fact I can't seem to set any variables in editoptions
editoptions:{size:'10px'} doesn't set the field size to 10px

As far as I known the size of input element can't be set in pixels with attribute size. With this you can set the number of characters. To use pixels you should use class or CSS.
All the edit options are added with attribute function from jQuery, so this must work. Check the right syntax.
