Hi there ...

I don't know if it's already implemented, but i suggest (and i tried, in a very raw and tricky way) to implement the use of "upload" type edit fields in the form editing module.

I guess jqGrid could be integrated with jquploader, which is a cool jq uploader which requires also flash player to do the progress bar.

Thanks

CJ

Hi,

cjorata, the problem in my humble opinion with jquploader is that it can't work without flash.

But I would very much like to see jqgrid with a ajax uploading file support.

What I need is the ability to submit a normal form (with select, text fields...) along with a file field in the same time, without the need to upload separately the file cause I think it mayconfuse some users (they need to 'upload' and after that 'submit').

I already tried several solutions, using the beforeSubmit event, with differents ajax api. The problem is that I am forced to return [false,''] in the beforeSubmit and use ajaxSubmit method but the response create a downloading page (containing my json response).

The normal submitting method (with return [true,'']) doesn't take into account the <input type="file" ...> I manually insert in the form.

I'd like to know how you guys cope with the file uploading problem...

Cordially, Geoffroy

I'm 90% sure we still dont have a post teaching how to integrate ajax file upload plugin. I searched all posts here and couldnt find anything. The main problem I've been facing is putting a edittype:"file", cause I think I can handle the upload plugin, but I guess I need some field to put my file in. Any help?

Hello,

Thanks. A better solution is to add a custom edittype, where the developer will do what they want. Will try to add it in 3.5 alfa 3.
