Although this post is really old, let's play grave digger and add some information for other visitors with similar questions:
the easiest way to save such information is to store the info on the backend site (PHP, ASP, ...) using cookies and have the grid check for these values when re-initialising it.
BACKEND:
// ... creating the $perPage & additional variables has been done in advance
setcookie('index-per-page', $perPage, time()+356*86400);
setcookie('index-page', $page, time()+356*86400);
setcookie('sort-order', $sortOrder, time()+356*86400);
setcookie('sort-field', $sortField, time()+356*86400);
?>
FRONTEND:
...
page: ($.cookie('index-page') ? $.cookie('index-page') : 1),
rowList:[10,20,30,40],
rowNum:($.cookie('index-per-page') ? $.cookie('index-per-page') : 20),
...
});
On the frontend side, I use the cookie-plugin [1] to have a jquerified way to access cookies.
Hope this helps a future visitor (more a Prof. Farnsworth than Fry)!
Cheers, Sascha
