Hi Tony,

I like the ability to start a page with the grid hidden (i.e collapsed to the caption layer) — it saves a lot of time when there are a lot of grids on the page and the operator is likely only going to want to work with one of them.

What I need now however, is some way of remembering whether a particular grid is opened or closed.

The situation is this; the operator comes to a page with a number of closed grids, opens one, selects an item to work with in another page (so this page containing these grids is lost); then comes back to the page of grids to select another item from the same grid. But now the grid is closed again, and that gets annoying.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Reg

Hello Reg,

There is no chance to do that when the page is reloaded, but you can

try not to close the page, but to hide it-  this way when the user try to come back you should check only if the page is already here and show it

Hi Tony,

I figured out that when a closed grid is opened, then (assuming that the data is xml or json) there is an ajax call to the server to get the data, and I can record that the grid is now opened, so I am half-way there. But there is no way to record that it has been closed again.

So, if I may, I would like to request an "onclose" method for the grid that allows us to specify an action to be taken (I am thinking, of course, of an ajax call to tell the server but someone else might want to create or update a cookie).

No rush, this is not a show-stopper for me.

Thanks

Reg

Hello Reg,

This really very interesting recommendation. Since we use toggle

function for this, there will be a possible to define events when

the grid opened or closed.

Thank you

Regards

Tony
