Navigate and select with keys

I'm working on an important project with cakephp and jqgrid.

I need to navigate the table and select the row with a key event (on key press).It is possible to do this with jqgrid or achieve something like this

or maybe include the same?

Also be particularly useful to place the focus on the first row after loading the grid

Set cellEdit to true or maybe cellSubmit to clientArray.

Thank you. I found what I needed to Celledit and Gridcomplete

I do not know if it is the best solution but if someone serves this is what I did.
gridComplete: function () (
$ ( "# list tr td: first"). trigger ( 'click');
),
to select the first row after loading the grid

You can use setSelection method (if you know the id of the first row) - it is better
