Hello Tony,
the current code have the option scrollOffset with the static value 18. I suggest to change the code so that it uses $.position.scrollbarWidth() method instead if it is defined. Alternatively one can includes the copy of the code (see here) which jQuery UI uses and use the same detection inside of jqGrid code.
