Hi,
It took me quite a while to find out why my table was always to small and why I had scroll bars all over the place. Unsurprisingly for you, its because the default height is set to 150 pixels, which is in my eyes compeltely nonsense. If I give the user the chance to switch the rows shown in a table, I automatically assume that I see all of them without scroll bars.
So, I see two options: Set the default height to 100% (and I don't want to customize this, I want it to be real default) or set it automatically to 100% when I give the user the chance to switch the numbers of rows shown.
I would really appreciate if you could change this!
Thanks,

Maybe you need only once do this after including jqGrid
$.extend($jgrid.defaults,{height:'100%'});
For professional UI suites for Java Script and PHP visit us at our commercial products site - guriddo.net - by the very same guys that created jqGrid.

Hi Tony,
I found it out myself yesterday but as I said: I think that the default setting is not good. Why do I need to change a value that - I think - nobody can use unmodified? The best solution would be the use a default value that suits the needs of most users and I think thats 100% and not 150 pixels.
Can you do a survey on this forum? Would be interesting to know. From my perspective, I see no use in a fixed pixel value at all...
