Hi, I'd like to make a feature request. I've just started using jqGrid and it appears to me that the css padding of the tds in the grid are hardcoded in the javascript (in order to make width calculations). Would it be possible for a future release to allow the td horizontal padding to be configurable?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hello,
This is not true. The padding and etc styles are in the css file.
Also you can look at this in order to change these.:
.ui-jqgrid .ui-jqgrid-htable th {height:22px;padding: 0 2px 0 2px;}
...
.ui-jqgrid tr.jqgrow td {font-weight: normal; overflow: hidden; white-space: pre; height: 22px;padding: 0 2px 0 2px;border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-color: inherit; border-bottom-style: solid;}
If change these values do not forget to change the cellLayout option in the grid options.
See docs.

Tony
