Hi, tony. Thank you for providing this great plugin.
It seems that <tr id="_empty" style="visibility:collapse"> can be delete from ie and firefox. If the grid is converted from html table and cellpadding and cellspacing are preserved as their old values, there exists a gap between header and the body in the grid.

Do you add class "scroll" to that table before calling jqGrid?
