pass parameter at run time to jqgrid

I create a jqGrid using following code:

$("#MyGrid").jqGrid({
url: 'mycfc.cfc?method=MyMethod'+jQuery("#txtCaseNumber").val()})

to create a jqGrid and would like topass parameter to the jqGrid at run time, because I want to show details informaiton base on user input.

Above code works only I have value in the txtCaseNumber control.

Not sure I understand the problem.

Try to create a variable and pass the variable and not the actuall value.
