Hey,
When a user click on add button , I check for some fields in the page , and if they are all set only then do i want to show the edit form, so i have the event firing in the beforeShowForm and i return false if the fields are not filled but the Addform shows up anyways, is there a way to cancel this.

Hello,
Use a custom button to add the add/edit action in the nav bar.
When you click a button you can analyze the data and call/not call editRow method.
