(Sorry the title of the topic was saved wrong and it could not be modified. It should be "support of <optgroup> inside of <select>")
Hello Tony,
I answerd recently one question on the stackoverflow which described small fixes in jqGrid which will allow to support <optgroup> together with <option> elements inside of <selects>. After the changes inline editing will support grouping in the selects:
and
The corresponding demos are here: single select demo, multiple select demo.
I hope the feature will be interesting for other who use jqGrid.

Hello Tony,
I want just remind you about the problem and some other proplems reported in the last time:
- http://www.trirand.com/blog/?p.....me/#p23815
- http://www.trirand.com/blog/?p.....se/#p23507

- http://www.trirand.com/blog/?p.....em/#p23012
Some from there are really simple other more complex, but all there seems still exist.
So if you will find the time for it please look at the bug reports.
One more small suggestion: it would be very nice if the bug fixes from the github code will be published more frequently as a new minor jqGrid release. For example it would be nice to see jqGrid 4.1.2 in the next time. Thank you.
Best regards
Oleg

Hello Tony,
please don't forget about the fixing of the problems described above. The initial topic described here contains not only suddestion how to support <optgroup> together with <option> elements inside of <selects> but additionally described a bug in standard <selects> in case of the usage both multiple: true and dataUrl options. In the case the line 67 of the grid.inlinedit.js should be changed from
to somethinh like
so that the next line
will be not executed. Currently the width of the select will be set before the data will be loaded from the dataUrl and after the loading the data can't be seen.
Recently I answerd on another question where the user had the problem.
Tony please fix at least the problem.
Another changes described in the answer are also prity simple and consists in removing of ">" in constructions like "select>option:selected". So there are clear and should have no side effects.
Best regards
Oleg
