'p.rownumbers' is null or not an object on IE8

Dear All,

I've been using for quite a while jqGrid and I encountered number of issues. Most of them I fixed by googling but this one I can't fix by my own.

I get the following error when I'm testing the application on IE8(even in compatibility mode):

Message: 'p.rownumbers' is null or not an object
Line: 123
Char: 121
Code: 0
URI: http://localhost:7213/afis/urt.....tom.min.js

The same code works on FF 15 perfectly.

The jqGrid librariy I use is version 3.8.1.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Just in case, if anybody encounters the same issue - it is the "class" attribute in the jqGrid colModel. It must be wrapped by quotes, because apparently it is some key word in IE7/8.

Stupid but it took me some time to realize it!
