Heads up.

Updating to the latest jQuery version 1.8.0 caused the add row option in navGrid to stop working.  Had to go back to jQuery 1.7.2 to get it working again.

I can confirm this.

Some standard navbar icons are not working when upgrading jQuery to 1.8.0. This is with jqGrid  4.4.0.

Do Not Work
Edit Selected Row
View Selected Row
Delete Selected Row
Find Records

Work OK
Reload Grid
Select Columns
Custom Icons (Export to CSV, Print)

There is no error message in firebug / javascript console when any of the Do Not Work icons are clicked.

Hello,

Not sure what you do, but for me this is working fine.

I do not have a chance to test this only for IE 7/8 browsers.

Please clear your browser cache and test.

Be a sure you load the correct files. There is no min file from github.

Regards

I'm sure that the fix is correct.

We plan to publish the new version these days, so you will get a chance to see the working solution.

Thank you.

I just tried installing the new jqGrid 4.4.1, which purportedly supports jQuery 1.8, but when I try to utilize 1.8 instead of 1.7.2, the navGrid functions still fail for me in Firefox 15 (my primary testing browser). Is anyone else still seeing this issue?

Hello,

The online demo has the latest jQuery 1.8 jqGrid 4.4.1 and jQuery UI 1.8.23.

You can see it in  action here

See Live Data Manipulation => Navigator.

The very importand think here is that you should upgrade to jQuery UI 1.8.23 and up.

The 1.8 work only with this version.

All other jQuery UI versions have problems with jQuery 1.8

I'm using  jQuery UI 1.8.23 and the jQuery 1.8.0 file that is included with that package, and the buttons still have absolutely no reaction when I click them (unfortunately, not even generating an error in the console) in Firefox. To clarify from my last post: navGrid works fine in Chrome 21/22 and IE9, but it fails in Firefox 15 on two separate workstations (one running Windows 7, one Windows Server 2008) I have here for testing. As soon as I revert to jQuery 1.7.2 (even if I continue using jQuery UI 1.8.23 and jqGrid 4.4.1), the problem goes away in Firefox 15.

I ran a test using just barebones features of navGrid while loading jQuery 1.8 (similar to your online demo),  and everything seemed to function fine, so the error appears to be related to using some of the extended options on navGrid. I'll try to track down more information on exactly what settings seem to be causing the error and let you know, if nothing is showing up as an issue on your end.

EDIT: After digging around some, I found that Firefox was getting tripped up on a bug relating to instantiation of forms under particular circumstances with in jQuery 1.8; it doesn't appear to have anything to do with jqGrid code, so no action should be necessary on your part.
