Have a look at the wiki .
In short - if you need a link to open a form to edit a row, just make it like this:
<a href"javascript:jQuery('#grid_id').editGridRow( rowid, {properties} );">link text</a>
Where:
#grid_id - the id attribute of the grid holder (<div>),
rowid - the id of the row to be edited
tip: you can find currently selected one with jQuery('#grid_id').getGridParam('selrow');
properties - you can just copy them from .navGrid()
