In firefox this file overwrites my document, adding script tags using a document.write. this should be done by creating an object and adding it to the document:
var fileref=document.createElement('script');
fileref.setAttribute("type","text/javascript");
fileref.setAttribute("src", filename);
document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0].appendChild(fileref);
This works in IE and Firefox but some investigation is needed for Safari
