Hi all,
I'm using gridDnD which is working OK except when I want to use a helper function for the drag widget instead of the default 'clone' mode. When you use this, and drag outside of the grid boundry, the grid starts to scroll. The drop still works if you continue the drag and release the mouse over a valid target, but this looks bad to the user.
To make it easier to see, I've created a demo page of the bug here: http://debug.proxcom.com/
Thanks for any help
EDIT: just noticed that if you drag upwards, no scrolling happens but the drag icon still stays within the grid boundry.
OK, I've found the problem and it's not a big. in the drag_opts I'd only set a value for 'helper', assuming the other untouched opetions would retain their defaults as if I'd not changed helper - they don't
The option that needs to be set is 'appendTo':
drag_opts:{
revert: 'invalid',
helper: function(event){ return $('<div>' + $(this).attr('id') + '</div>'); },
cursor: 'move',
appendTo : '#jqgrid_dnd',
zIndex: 5000}
