IMHO: assuming the options for caption+columnheaders+navGrid are on, the grid option height = 100% should account for them.

Currently it only account for the grid cells.

Likewise setGridHeight should account for them too. Correct?

If not maybe new methods 'totalHeight' &  'setTotalHeight' could be created?

thanks,

Tim

Hello,

Setting height to 100% is not actually correct, a value of 'auto' is more readable which means that the number of rows should fit in the content. It is little difficult to do this - by example if you set height 50px where a caption, header rows and pager are present - What should I do in this case????? - the total height of these is more than 50px.

Best Regards

Tony

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the reply.

I don't think anyone would care if the min grid height is limited to the caption + pager (if turned on)  + 2 grid rows.

I'm thinking what people need is a method to have the 'totalGrid' fit in 100% of the browsers vertical space.  We can already do this for the horizontal space with setGridWidth, but setGridHeight = 100% will always create a double scrollbar (one for the browser and one for the grid). We can't set the browsers overflow-y to hidden when there's a pager at the bottom, but we could if we could be sure the pager would stay in view....

Does that make sense?

Here's a feature request logged by another fellow doing approximately the same thing:

If you want a demo of my problem please email me (tim @ blackstag.com) and I will point you one I have (I don't want the masses hitting my production site).

Thanks,

Tim
