Hello,
You can use ajaxEditOptions
http://www.trirand.com/jqgridw.....ditgridrow
These options extend the ajax options when data is posted , so you can define your own onError function
jQuery("#grid").jqGrid('editGridRow', 'rowid',
ajaxEditOptions : {
error : function(jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown)
{
/// here your code for the error
}
}
);
Or if you use the navigator set ajaxEditOptions in the navigator edit options

For professional UI suites for Java Script and PHP visit us at our commercial products site - guriddo.net - by the very same guys that created jqGrid.

Thanks, this is absolutely useful. There is a little problem: when the server error is thrown, the edit dialog shows a very unfriendly message in the "#EditError" TD element at the top, with the HTTP status code. I need to change this message, setting a custom one in the ajaxEditOptions.error function. Unfortunately the unfrendly message is set AFTER the ajaxEditOptions.error execution, so my message is overwritten. Is there a way to avoid the http status error message?
Thanks
