I'm using the popup edit form and I want to require user input on a select and validate its occurance.
Given something like:
colModel :[{name:id_sel, edittype:'select',
editrules:{required:true},
editoptions:{value:":;1:choice1;2:choice2"...}},
...]
I want to validate the user made a selection and I don't want to provide a default. When submit is clicked no validation on the select occurs. I'm thinking the above select has an empty value and since I'm saying it's required it should fail validation. What say you? Bug or feature request?

Hello,
Currently the field checking works only on text fields. It is difficult to do on selects - some will ask to check the key, some will ask to check the text and so on.
