I'm using 3.5.3, the latest released version. Formats like yyyy-mm-dd, which are documented explicitly to work, don't. Only single character elements for the formats work, e.g., y-m-d.
You may have fixed this in the next beta, but this is what's wrong with using wikis for documentation: documentation needs to be version-controlled, just like code. Just sayin'.

Thanks for this - you are right. I will correct this.
One more words. One of the reason to have Wiki Documenation is that the users can change it and correct it and you are free to do this.
