custom buttons with no icon not working

The docs at:

under Custom Buttons says:

buttonimg: (string) full path to valid image. If empty string, no image will be attached.

I believe that is supposed to say buttonicon rather than buttonimg, but leaving it as empty string doesn't cause no image to be attached. It always uses the ^ icon if I put empty string.

Can we get it so an empty string really attaches no img?

Hello Lynn,

Yes the current documentation does not cover 100% of the 3.5 release.

Since jqGrid representation completley depend on UI Theming you should set the name of the icon from UI Theme.

By Example:

$("#gridid").navButtonAdd ('#pager', buttonicon: 'ui-icon-cancel');

where

ui-icon-cancel is a name from theme roller

yes, I had figured out how to use one of the ones from jquery UI theming but what I was hoping to be able to do is not have an icon at all by using an empty string. That doesn't seem to work. If it's not a bug, then I guess I'd like for it to be a feature request.
