Hi Tony, this is a very great plugins, and i really love it.
I like to ask you some questions.
With many fields (total of the fields width) over the grid width, colnameauto shrink.
why the width of the grid colname is not equal to width of column?
I need the colname scrollable if over the grid width, how to solve this problem ?
Thank you very much
Amin

Hi Tony
Sorry to bring this up again but I have what I think is the same problem, I have tried all the combinations in the docs as you suggest but the problem does appear to be a genuine bug.
When a fixed width grid is populated with a large dataset the grid does not allways line up with the headings and the headings will also expand onto multiple lines.
I hope my description of the problem is ok but the effect is quite dificult to describe, let me know if you require more detail

Hi Tony
Thanks for the very fast reply.
The grid in question is on a corporate website and I would need to give you a login and password, is there any way I could do this not on a public forum
Also I have been runing some tests to isolate the cause of the problem
It would appear that it is impossible to have a grid with width less than the total width of the column headings as the headings will not overlap, plus if the column width is less than the text width of the heading the columns and headings will go out of line (this effect can be demonstrated on your resizing demo http://www.trirand.com/jqgrid/.....qgrid.html using firefox 3 if you resize the client column to minimum and watch the columns go out line, the effect is less obviouse on other browsers with a small data set like this but all browsers have problems with large datasets.
p.s This problem aside congatulations on a brilliant component

John

John,
Thank you for this. You can write me a e-mai to

I known that the things that should be improved in the grid are - width management and scrolling. Currently I serach for better solution without to change any other functionality. Help from the users and community is welcome.
